Daytime Schedule – Saturday April 27 – No admission – Free!!

First Floor

  • 10 am Workshop: Kids’ Songwriting Activity ages 5 to 9. Led by Missy Burgess
  • 12 pm Workshop: The Luthier – handcrafting the perfect ukulele, with Mark Rogers and Joel Jacques
  • 1 pm Workshop: Drumming Circle with Jody Marsolais
  • 2 pm Workshop: The First Time (aka the Early Years)
    Wendell Ferguson, Suzie Vinnick, Ana Miura, Amanda Rheaume and Amanda Bon.
  • 3 pm Concert: Amanda Bon and The Outskirts with opener Mark Evenchick
  • 4 pm Workshop: Learning to Play Together Better led by Garry Greenland with Maple Hill

Second Floor

  • 12 pm Workshop: Introducing Kids to Gardening, with Ed Lawrence followed by a book signing.
  • 1:30 pm Concert: Sparrows – home-schooled childrens’ choir led by Chris White, including a special song written by Chris.
  • 2 pm Workshop: Kidzone led by Selina Bishop
  • 3 pm Workshop: Musical Instruments – Watch and Try – with guests Chris White, Hollis Morgan, Sjef Frenken, Mary Gick, Arthur McGregor and Pat Moore. Each artist will talk about and demonstrate the instrument for which they are best known (although they are all multi-instrumentalists). The final ½ hour will be an instrument petting zoo where kids can check out the various instruments and talk to the artists.
  • 4:30 Choir: Folka Voca – from the Ottawa Folklore Centre

Basement

  • 3pm to 5pm Workshop: Madlab. Kids soldering electronic kits – with Lane Braden.

Broadcast Room (First Floor)

  • CKCU Live Broadcast:

    • 10:00 – 12:00 Canadian Spaces with Chris White.
    • 12:00 – 1:00 Back 40 with host Ron Moores

St. Barnabas Church (70 James Street at Kent)

  • 1:00 to 3:00 Andy Rush and the Weekend Choir – practice.

  • 12 pm Workshop: Producing a Charity Event – Ana Miura and Amanda Rheaume, – . Ana is the founder of the charity Babes for Breasts and Amanda is right-hand Babe.
  • 1:00 pm Concert: Concession 23
  • 2:30 pm Open Stage 1 1/2 hours. Presented by the Spirit of Rasputin’s
  • 4:00 pm Concert: Spirit of Rasputin’s Cabaret Concert, featuring Greg Kelly, with opener Spencer Scharf.

Second Floor

  • 12:00 pm Workshop: Writers’ Bloc led by Greg Kelly. Artists will bring in a new song and talk about the process of writing a song.
  • 1:00 pm Contra Dance (1 hour): with host Emily Addison
  • 2:00 pm Concert: Celtic Rathskallions with Wendy Moore and Arthur McGregor. For kids from 3 to 90.
  • 3:00 pm Concert: Neptune Music – kids’ performances
  • 4:00 pm Gil’s Grassroots Hootenanny – A sing-along with a roomful of people singing songs of protest, songs of hope. A preview of what’s happening on May 1st.
  • 5:00 pm Choir: The Brothers -a just-for-fun mens’ choir led by Chris White.

    • 11:30 – 1:00pm Music from the Glen with host Colin Henein.
