Ottawa – January 18, 2024 – The Ottawa Grassroots Festival is thrilled to announce the generous support received from the Government of Canada’s Community Services Recovery Fund (CSRF). The funding will be used over the period of one year between 2023 and 2024.

Ottawa Grassroots Festival (OGF) is grateful to the CSRF for supporting the growth of the annual festival and supporting our core values of inclusion and participation. “This funding is not only supporting us through a challenging time, it is providing us with the tools and training to develop, adapt, and grow. This funding will support OGF and provide us the opportunity to reach an exciting and new level,” said OGF Producer, Alison Bowie.

“OGF was able to shift gears and stay financially solvent during the past few years, a time that was especially difficult for the music industry. This funding will not only help our small yet mighty organization restructure and recoup, it will help propel OGF’s exposure to a more competitive level in a town well known for festivals.

We thank the Community Services Recovery Fund for investing in our volunteer-run community festival so we can continue to help people connect and celebrate community, while supporting local artists in a town filled with so much talent.

The Ottawa Grassroots Festival is a non-profit, community-based, volunteer-run organization dedicated to cultivating community at the local level through a vibrant annual festival of concerts and participatory workshops. As the long-term recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic continues, we welcome the Government of Canada’s push for a more inclusive model of economic growth that creates opportunities for everyone in Canada.
