Everything happens for a reason.

Céleste Lévis grew up in Timmins, Ontario. Music came into her life later, following serious health problems that forced her to stop all sports activities. In her darkest moments, music offered her a second chance at life.

Having developed a taste for the profession, the singer-songwriter is more eager than ever to perform on stage. In 2013, the young Franco-Ontarian participated in Ontario Pop, a true springboard for up-and-coming Francophone musicians in Ontario. Céleste won 6 of the 8 prizes, which allowed her to enter the Ma Première Place des Arts competition and advance directly to the semi-finals of the Festival International de la chanson de Granby. In 2015, Céleste participated in La Voix and reached the semi-finals. Shortly after, she chose to put her studies at the University of Ottawa on hold to pursue her ultimate goal: to break into the music industry and share her art.

Céleste released her first album, “CÉLESTE,” in 2015. Since then, she has continued her rise, performing extensively on her tour across Canada. Other significant milestones for the singer-songwriter include opening for Francis Cabrel in Quebec in 2016, a nomination at the ADISQ Gala for Adult Contemporary Album of the Year, five nominations at the 2017 Trille Or Gala, and a nomination for Francophone Artist of the Year at the NOMFA Awards. In September 2021, Céleste participated in songwriting workshops in Astaffort, France, led by none other than Francis Cabrel.

More dedicated than ever, Céleste self-produced her second album, Donne-moi le temps (2018), and her album Noël tout autour (November 2020). In October 2021, she released her fourth album, Si tu veux tout savoir. The album enjoyed considerable success on the radio with its first single, “Ça passera,” and in the media. Four more radio singles followed, and the album resonated across Canada, introducing the singer-songwriter to new audiences.

In 2024, Céleste was selected for the Des lacs à l’océan project , a triple interprovincial showcase. She performed at the Festival international de la Chanson de Granby and the Franco-Fête de Toronto, among others. She is currently working on her next album with her longtime collaborator, Marc-Antoine Joly.

With her unique, warm, and comforting voice, Céleste hopes to give people hope through her songs. Kind and generous to her audience, this artist is one of those great souls who pierce the heart and carve out a place for themselves there… to our great joy.

Céleste Lévis will perform at the Ottawa Grassroots Festival on Thursday, April 23rd at 7:30 PM
