Christine Graves voice and guitar have been a mainstay of the Ottawa music scene since 1995, except when she disappeared from 2007 to 2021! Graves has performed at The Calgary Folk Festival, Filberg Arts Festival, Blue Skies Music Festival, Upper Canada Folk Festival, Stewart Park Festival, CityFolk and the CKCU Ottawa Folk Fest among others! She was part of the four woman world beat a capella group Malaika from 2000 to 2005. These days, Graves can be seen curating and performing as host of Lucky Songs Songwriters' Round once monthly at Meow! That's Hot.
Her songs represent the human condition, make a call for justice as part of daily life and get inspiration from the Canadian Landscape. Christine creates songs from a blend of folk, pop, jazz and improvisation tools to bring you a unique sound. Sometimes she gets the audience to sing along. Graves' voice can be irreverent, touching, or funny. Her stage of life has provided her a little wisdom to share.
2024 is the first time Christine brings her original music to the OGR Festival stage.
