Holly Alaine Staples (Instagram @hollyalainearts) is a live art performer, visual artist and art educator originally from Maryland, USA. After earning a BFA in Studio Art and Art History from Concordia University in Montréal, Holly moved to Ottawa in August 2025. She is now focusing her creative pursuits on creating portraits and fashion illustrations both on stage capturing musicians as they perform, and off the stage capturing attendees at music festivals, art markets and Ottawa fashion week! She also has been face and body painting at performances, festivals and parties since 2017.
Holly currently teaches online art classes for children through Miss Jenny’s Studio and is seeking in-person teaching opportunities in Ottawa—including workshops, paint-and-sip events, small group classes, and private art tutoring for all ages. She is available for commissioned paintings as well as custom painted and embroidered clothing!
On Saturday, April 25, Holly will host a workshop called ‘Portrait drawing basics for all ages!’ Holly says ‘Sketchbooks encouraged, paper and pencils will be provided’.
